How Himedi Vets Clinics in Korea — Checkup Centers: MediOne

MediOne
My first call with Dr. Park Won-Jeong, Chief Director of MediOne, took place on December 2, 2025. A month earlier, I had submitted a partnership inquiry through MediOne’s website. After weeks of silence, I had already moved on — which is why the call stood out.
I visited MediOne the following week and formed a partnership shortly after.
Many of our American customers requested MRI scans last fall. However, due to limited capacity, we were unable to meet a significant portion of that demand. We knew we needed a checkup center with a strong foundation in radiology — and MediOne came at exactly the right moment.

Took the photo during my first visit to MediOne, in the evening when there were no patients. (Dec. 2025) Located immediately to the right after exiting Exit 3 of Hapjeong Station (Line 2).
How We Position MediOne?
I did not want to position our new whole-body MRI package as simply “more affordable than options in the U.S. That framing misses the point. MediOne is built by a radiologist who trained and practiced at top-tier institutions, and who has invested heavily in advanced imaging technology and infrastructure.
Around that time, I recalled that two of our customers — who are also investors in Himedi — Jenny and Domingo, had experienced a leading U.S.-based whole-body MRI service. Instead of launching with price discounts, we reached out to them. On January 10, 2026, we reviewed their experiences in detail — and became confident that our new partner could deliver a superior experience.
Medical Quality & Safety
MediOne removes the layers between the patient and the radiologist.
1. Direct communication with an on-site radiologist
Domingo shared his experience in the U.S.:
After undergoing a whole-body MRI, he was informed the next day that a potential issue had been detected. The call came from a staff member — not a radiologist. He was advised to seek further evaluation by a radiologist at another facility. The follow-up scan showed no issue. But the process created unnecessary anxiety, along with additional time and cost.
“(The US based whole body MRI service) does not include any direct interaction with a radiologist...If Himedi provides a radiologist to help with interpretation, that would be a next level service, something that is clearly a much better.”
— Domingo, January 10, 2026
At MediOne, the structure is fundamentally different. Its whole-body MRI is not designed as a referral step to another clinic. There is no initial layer separating the patient from the radiologist. Patients communicate directly with a radiologist both before and after the scan. They can receive initial insights on the same day, along with clear guidance on whether further testing is actually necessary.

2. Global standard in reporting
One of the most common questions we receive from U.S. patients is:
“Can I use these imaging files when I return home?”
In Korea, MRI infrastructure is widely available, and most centers use equipment from Siemens, Philips, or GE.
MediOne meets the global standard. The center operates Siemens’ top-tier 3T MRI system. More importantly, consultations and radiology reports are conducted directly in English by the same on-site radiolgoist. As a result, when physicians in the U.S. review these imaging files and reports, there is minimal friction or loss of clarity.
Customer Experience

Patients can enjoy curated artwork throughout the space at MediOne
Direct English Communication: MediOne is aligned with English-speaking patients, with physicians and key staff communicating directly in English.
Privacy by Design: Checkup centers require operational efficiency by nature because they have many expensive equipment. However, it tried to avoid a factory-style experience. Within the new building, patients encounter a thoughtfully designed space featuring curated artwork. The radiology department integrates private consultation rooms that support one-on-one communication with the physician.
Clear Ownership of International Patients: Dr. Park, the owner and chief director, is herself a radiologist — and MediOne is anchored in radiology. She directly leads the development of Himedi’s whole-body MRI + checkup packages. Her approach is consistent and clear: prioritize diagnostic quality above all else.
Price Transparency: MediOne openly publishes its package pricing online. Unlike many local Korean medical websites, which can feel dense and difficult to navigate, MediOne’s interface is designed to be accessible and intuitive for international patients.
On-the-Ground View
In the post-COVID era, dermatology was the first category to see the emergence of a new generation of clinics — English-native, privacy-focused, and structurally different from traditional high-volume systems. From 2025 to 2026, we are seeing the same shift begin in the checkup center category, but this transition is not easy to replicate.
Checkup centers require significant capital investment in high-cost equipment and operational efficiency, which makes a fully boutique model difficult. However, a new generation is emerging — integrating better spatial design, improved patient flow, and a more international-facing experience. From Himedi’s perspective, MediOne represents this next generation.
It also aligns with the growing longevity trend in the U.S., where patients seek not only blood tests, but more comprehensive and reliable medical data — including advanced imaging.
