Exploring Seoul’s Longevity Scene #1: Wellness House Seoul
The concept of longevity is beginning to take hold in Korea. One of the clearest signs is the emergence of physical spaces that combine healthcare, wellness, and retail in new ways. Many of these places are still relatively unknown, even among local Koreans. Through this series, I want to introduce some of them to Himedi's American customers. The first is Wellness House Seoul.
Wellness House Seoul
It is located in BLOCK77, about a three-minute walk from Exit 10 of Gangnam Station. The building is personally meaningful to me because Himedi’s headquarters was located there until a few years ago. It has since become a medical building occupied almost entirely by clinics.
Wellness House Seoul spans three levels. The first floor includes a skincare store and the Swellnessy Bar. WIM Clinic, which focuses on body care and weight management, is on the first basement level, while DERNA Clinic, a dermatology clinic, is on the second basement level. What stood out to me was not any single service, but the way the different spaces are connected.

Visitors can receive a skin analysis using an EveLab device inside a dome-shaped installation on the first floor. I found this interesting because EveLab is usually used in dermatology clinics. Retailer's skin analysis services such as Olive Young’s Skin Scan and Ready Young’s Skin Lab generally identify basic skin types, such as oily or dry skin, and recommend cosmetics. EveLab provides a more detailed view of the skin’s condition.
After the analysis, visitors can purchase recommended skincare products at the store or consider visiting DERNA Clinic downstairs. The process does not push customers toward a single solution. Instead, it gives them information and allows them to decide what to do next.

WIM Clinic (B1F) & Swellnessy Bar (1F)
WIM Clinic specializes in body care and weight management. It uses DEXA, 3D body scanning, ultrasound, InBody analysis, and other equipment to assess a person’s physical condition. Many of our customers may already be familiar with GLP-1 medications for weight loss and body contouring. The clinic’s recovery-focused equipment, however, may be less familiar.
- Infrared Sauna/Capsule: Designed to support relaxation and promote sweating
- Oxygen Chamber: Provides high-concentration oxygen as part of a recovery session
- Cryotherapy: Uses extremely low temperatures as part of a recovery and body-care program
- Air Pressure Therapy: Applies controlled compression to the legs and may be helpful for people concerned about lower-body swelling
- Warm Pulse Therapy: Uses low-frequency stimulation to help relax tense muscles.
After completing a body treatment, visitors can return to the first floor and stop by the Swellnessy Bar. The drinks are organized around different goals, including skin care, energy, and fatigue recovery. The menu includes the “Lifting Strawberry Smoothie,” the glutathione-infused “Glow Blend Americano,” the “No Spike Grain Latte,” and the “Hangover Green Shot.” Some drinks are served with supplements such as vitamins.

The overall concept is simple: visitors receive information about their condition and then choose what to do next. That choice may be a product, a clinic visit, or simply a drink at the bar. This reminded me of how Himedi approaches comprehensive health checkups—as a starting point for exploring Korean healthcare and wellness, rather than as a standalone service.
