What to Know Before Booking — Health Checkup: KMI Jeju
Based on my visit and checkup in mid-May 2026
If you are looking for the No. 1 health checkup center in Jeju, KMI Jeju is the first place I would look at. KMI Jeju is located in Seogwipo, inside Jeju Healthcare Town. If you are staying around Seogwipo or the Jungmun resort area, the location can fit naturally into your Jeju itinerary. You can complete a checkup in the morning and still keep most of the day open for travel.
What surprised me is that KMI Jeju still feels almost undiscovered by international patients. The facility is large, the equipment is modern, and the pace is calm — but it does not yet have the same patient traffic as KMI branches in Seoul.

Quick Verdict
KMI Jeju is best suited for travelers who want a quiet and reliable health checkup during a Jeju trip. Compared with other KMI branches, the biggest advantage is space and pace. The facility is large, patient volume is still very low, and the equipment feels up to date. You can move through the checkup with more breathing room than at almost any other KMI branch.
Strengths
Spacious, quiet, and comfortable: What stood out to me was not only the size of the center, but the feeling of the space. As you move between exam rooms, KMI Jeju has wide hallways, fewer patients than the major city branches, and many large glass windows that bring in natural light.
Faster checkup time: Because patient volume is very low, KMI Jeju can be faster than other KMI branches. When I visited in mid-May 2026, I started a basic health checkup at 9:00 AM and finished around 10:00 AM. The exact time will depend on the package, optional tests, and how busy the center is that day, but the pace felt noticeably faster(but more comfortable) than larger city branches.
Modern equipment, including MRI and CT: It is not a small local clinic offering only basic exams. The center has modern diagnostic equipment, including MRI and CT, which allows it to support more comprehensive checkup packages. For travelers who want a more serious preventive checkup while staying in Jeju, this matters.
Easy to fit into a Seogwipo or Jungmun itinerary: KMI Jeju is especially practical if your Jeju itinerary is focused on Seogwipo or the Jungmun resort area. You can complete the medical part of the morning, then continue to O’Sulloc, Jungmun, Seogwipo, or other west and south Jeju destinations.
Reliable quality from the KMI network: KMI Jeju is part of KMI, Korea’s largest health screening network. The medical process, diagnostic standards, reporting system, and package structure follow KMI’s national framework. You are not choosing an unknown local clinic simply because it is in Jeju. You are choosing the Jeju branch of a major Korean checkup institution.

A spacious and quiet waiting area

Imaging scan rooms with natural light throughout the space

You move between exam rooms through wide hallways, which made the experience feel more relaxed than other large checkup centers in Seoul

Next to the doctor consultation waiting area, a door opens to a beautiful space overlooking the sea off Seogwipo.
Considerations
English support is still developing: KMI Jeju is almost undiscovered by international patients. If you want a fully guided international patient experience from start to finish, KMI Jeju may not be the easiest option.
That said, my personal view is balanced. If you can follow English-translated screen instructions, move between checkup stations independently, and ask simple questions in English when needed, KMI Jeju can work well. The lower patient volume also gives you more time and space to self-guide through the process.
