Preparation for Whole Body MRI [+ Checkup]

The Day Before Your Check-up

  1. Rest Well
    • Avoid alcohol, smoking, and overwork. Get enough sleep.
  2. Dinner
    • Have a light meal before 8:00 PM.
    • After 9:00 PM, no food or drink (water only).
    • If you have indigestion, eat porridge before 6:00 PM.
  3. Medication
    • If you are under medical treatment, consult your doctor first.
    • For gastroscopy/colonoscopy patients taking blood thinners (Aspirin, Coumadin/Warfarin, Plavix, etc.), consult your doctor.
    • If taken within the last 7 days, biopsy may not be possible.
  4. Female Patients
    • Tests (urine, cervical cancer) should be done 5–7 days after menstruation ends.
    • No intercourse or vaginal suppositories 24 hours before cervical cancer test.
    • For individuals who are breastfeeding, mammography and breast ultrasound examinations are restricted.
  5. Pregnancy
    • If there is a possibility, confirm pregnancy before the check-up.
  6. Endoscopy (Gastroscopy / Colonoscopy)
    1. General Precautions
      1. If you have nails with cubic stones or accessories, please remove them from at least one finger before your visit.
      2. If your front teeth are weak or you have dental implants, there may be some limitations for sedation endoscopy. (During the procedure, you may need to bite down on a mouthpiece, which carries a small risk of breaking a front tooth — though this is uncommon.)
    2. Colonoscopy
    • Follow the instructions in the colonoscopy guide.
  7. Please remove all accessories before your visit, as they may interfere with the examination.
